Darius J. Wright has been leaving his body since he was a child, before he had words for it, back when he assumed everyone could do it. At 16 he made an ultimatum in the middle of the night — show me all things or I will figure it out anyway — and he was shown everything. Every question he had ever wanted to ask. Somewhere in a version of this moment that is running parallel to the one you are sitting in, you are opening an envelope. You did no extra work for what is inside it. You made no sacrifice.
