In this episode, Leslie continues the Overcoming series with several powerful true stories of missionaries to Africa who choose sacrificial love over selfish indifference. We live in a culture where self-protection and selfish living are often glorified, and sacrificial love seems unnecessary and extreme. But as these stories remind us, God's love for us is both sacrificial and extreme. And when we truly grasp his His awe-inspiring love, it is only reasonable that we offer our bodies to Him as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:11).

This amazing story reminds us that when we unreservedly take up our cross and follow Christ no matter the cost, the world can be radically and eternally changed. Our natural human tendency is to take the easy road of self-protection, and remain in our comfort zones. Esther's life inspires us to embrace spiritual tenacity and joyfully suffer any hardship for the One who gave everything to us - through His enabling strength.
