    Spicy food and spicy Jews

    05/2/2026 | 1 h 26 min
This week in the Garden, we’re talking about the Jews you don’t usually hear about.

I’m joined by Raquel aka The Blonde Sephardi to dive into the rich, complex, and often overlooked world of Sephardic Jews. From history and expulsion to culture, food, and identity, this episode is about the Jewish story that doesn’t always make it into the textbooks.

So often when people picture a Jew, they picture Europe. But Sephardic Jews built Jewish life across the Middle East, North Africa, and beyond carrying our traditions, flavor, and resilience with us wherever we were forced to go. We didn’t crumble. We rebuilt. Every time.

In this episode, we talk about:
        •    Sephardic history most people were never taught
        •    Where stereotypes come from (and which ones we might actually own)
        •    Why Sephardic culture is so rich, bold, and deeply rooted
        •    How identity, exile, and survival shaped who we are today

This episode is funny, honest, spicy, and proud just like our food. 🌶️
Whether you’re Sephardic, Ashkenazi, or just curious, welcome to the Garden.

    Ask Eve (Lauren’s version)

    30/1/2026 | 1 h 32 min
Today we welcome one of my closest friends, Lauren to the garden, aka my literal opposite in almost every way 😅. I dress fully modest, she does… not. I’m more low key, she loves to go out, party, and live loud. On paper, we shouldn’t make sense but spiritually and emotionally, we’ve always met in the same place: deep, real conversations about life.

This episode feels like you’re eavesdropping on a DMC between two girlfriends at a bar at midnight. No script, no filters, just honest questions and raw takes. Lauren asks me everything about men and women, dating, marriage, boundaries, social media, purpose, and what it actually means to live a meaningful life in a world that’s constantly telling us who to be.

It’s funny, a little chaotic, sometimes confronting, and surprisingly deep. Two polar opposites, one shared search for truth. Welcome to the conversation. 💬🌱

    Antisemitism Unfiltered

    16/1/2026 | 1 h 27 min
Today we welcome Jonathan Chesner to the garden 🌱 the face behind Amuze for a candid, unfiltered conversation about one of the most age-old yet suddenly trending topics: antisemitism.

In this episode, we break down how antisemitism is showing up right now, why the current approach to “combating” it often misses the mark, and what we believe actually does (and doesn’t) help. With hot takes, uncomfortable truths, and zero sugarcoating, we explore why this hatred exists in every generation, how it’s being handled today, and what needs to change moving forward.

Jonathan shares firsthand experiences from living in Milan while visibly Jewish, including the looks, confrontations, and realities of wearing a kippah daily. It’s honest, educational, sometimes heavy, but ultimately empowering. This episode is about clarity, courage, and rethinking how we fight back.

    Mothering

    08/1/2026 | 1 h 21 min
Today we welcome my big sister, Sanaya, to the garden for a conversation that starts with motherhood, and opens into something much bigger.

We’re both newer moms, still very much in it, figuring things out in real time. While this episode isn’t a “how-to” guide on being a mom, it is an honest reflection on how becoming mothers has completely shifted the way we understand love, responsibility, patience, and purpose.

Through our own experiences of creating and caring for a human being, we explore a powerful new lens for understanding our relationship with God. What does it mean to love something you created more than yourself? To see potential before it’s fully revealed? To know what’s best for someone even when they don’t understand it yet?

We talk about God as a parent, how He knows us more deeply than anyone else, believes in our potential even when we can’t see it, and guides us with a love that’s both tender and firm. Motherhood gave us language for something we always believed in, but never fully felt until now.

This episode is for anyone who is a mom, thinking about becoming one, or simply curious about how life experiences can unlock deeper spiritual understanding. It’s soft, thoughtful, emotional, and grounding, very much a “welcome back to the garden, let’s grow together” kind of conversation 🌸

Ch. 31 What’s the hype about Elul?

    11/9/2025 | 59 min
Today we welcome back Rabbi Pilachowski to the Garden for a deep dive into the month of Elul and the holidays that follow. We unpack what all the hype is about, why this month is so talked about, and the real truth behind what Elul is meant to be.

We talk about Rosh Hashanah and how it differs from the “regular” New Year, the meaning behind the simanim (yes, apples and honey included), the power of the shofar, and what this day is really about. Then we shift into Yom Kippur, and discover how what feels like the most dreaded day on the Jewish calendar is actually one of the most uplifting and happiest days of the year.

Together, we explore the tools we need to enter these chagim with intention, and how to carry our goals forward so they aren’t just short-lived resolutions but lasting transformations for the year ahead.
