Entertainment veterans, creative partners, and lifelong collaborators, Eric and Julia Lewald have spent more than three decades as writers, story editors, developers, and showrunners across acclaimed animated and live-action series. After meeting while working at Disney TV Animation during the Disney Afternoon era, they went on to help create one of animation’s most enduring legacies with X-Men: The Animated Series (1992–1997). X-Men ’97 Season 2 continues with the heroic mutant team of X-Men, divided and thrown across different eras in time as they struggle to navigate their return home. Meanwhile, back in the 1990s, suspicious foes and new strains of mutant intolerance are on the rise in the wake of the X-Men’s absence. Season 2 of X-Men ’97 premieres with three episodes on Wednesday, July 1 on Disney+ in Canada.
