Update Feb 2026 :
I'm two weeks late to the news, in truth I've been processing it since and grieving fictional characters. In short I'm absolutely gutted to find out about Lionheart and GT. This came right off my decision to end another project too.🧍♀️
Whatever the case I hope GT is okay and wish them well in whatever they do.
This podfic will remain as a tribute to the fic, although I will happily remove it if the author reaches out.
But to be honest, I'm not sure what to do with myself going forward. I still adore podficcing, but I feel lost right now, like I've lost a limb or something.
When they initially announced they were taking it down to rewrite it, I admittedly felt stuck between a rock and a hard place, thinking people were going to expect me to re record the whole thing from scratch, so I waited it out thinking I'll see how much is being rewritten before deciding what to do. And then I find out on Reddit of all places that the entire account is gone.
My heart hurts for the author, all those words, the versions of those characters were truly something special, all that time spent meticulously planning that living and breathing world, just gone in a thanos snap. I've been in a similar mindset in my old fandom and it is a very difficult decision to make and is not taken lightly at all. I just hope they found peace with it and aren't agonising over it too much. Stories come and go, they always have and always will, and it is shame Lionheart won't be told until the end anymore, but it is still treasured by so many people, including myself.
And I thank Greenteacup for the opportunity to bring it to life, and the insurmountable passion they shared with the fandom.
Delulu of me to say because how final everything feels, but if they ever do return, I will not hesitate to pick this back up where we left off. Love you GT, look after yourself and your brilliant brain x
