I recently had the most unexpected encounter with a 19 year old Christian while hiking through the hills of Scotland. This is his story of growing up agnostic, yet finding faith through the sudden opening of his spiritual eyes. We also discussed the temptations that come with long-term travel and how the Lord intervenes.

Josh Swanson grew up in church but believed the claims of Christianity were bogus "opium for the masses." In his eyes, religion was nothing more than a coping mechanism. But Josh himself was coping...with confusion around his biracial identity, loneliness, and more, all of which he sought to stifle with chemical substances. Until one late night in 2011, when the God of the Bible revealed Himself to Josh in an undeniable way. But the story doesn't end there.
After encountering the Lord, Josh resisted sanctification and ended up dabbling in manifestation, developing severe ulcerative colitis, going through a divorce, and finally experiencing true submission and new life in Christ.

Former Omega Psi Phi member DB (@DBtheteacher) discusses the reality behind Greek organizations, their Freemason roots, and their incompatibility with fidelity to Christ. DB confesses his own ritualized abuse of younger fraternity members and revisits the violent upbringing that primed him for it.

This is part 2 of Rachel Free’s testimony of overcoming abuse, both at the hands of her father and under church leadership. This is a crucial episode not only because of Rachel’s testimony, but also its lesson for our current moment. The word warns us of false prophets and leaders who will perform miracles, signs, and wonders seemingly in the name of Jesus, only to be told at judgment, “'I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness'” (Matthew 21:23).

Everyone who claims Christ is not operating in the Holy Spirit. Wheat and tares anyone?! There are counterfeit spirits and counterfeit gospels, and many are being deceived. It’s time to wake up and outgrow our Christian naiveté. We pray that Rachel’s story will aid in that.
