Malmö DJ and Kontra-Musik label head Ulf Eriksson sits down with us alongside longtime collaborator Andreas Tilliander — known to most as TM404 — to talk through their first joint release, Ulf Och Andreas - EP 1. It's a record ten years in the making: minimal, raw house and techno that bears the marks of their ongoing creative tension — Eriksson pushing for restraint, Tilliander reaching for layers. The conversation is candid, often funny, and revealing about how both artists work. Eriksson also recorded an IA Mix to accompany the release, moving from PST's warm house through Omar-S and Eletun Selona to the duo's own material.

For our 400th mix, we wanted something that felt genuinely singular. Kirill Vasin, aka Hoavi, delivers exactly that — a mix composed entirely of music made by him and his students.

Hoavi is a teacher of music composition, and the philosophy that underpins his work bleeds into everything he touches. His recent album Architectonics on Peak Oil draws on the interlocking rhythmic traditions of gamelan, approaching form and timbre with the rigour of a composer and the intuition of a producer. That same spirit of communal practice is at the heart of IA MIX 400.

Rob Clouth returns with Cicada, a four-track EP that signals a shift toward a faster, more instinctive creative process, accompanied by an IA MIX that blurs the line between DJing and production. Built in Ableton at 160–170 BPM, the mix layers over 25 tracks using edits, stem separation and rapid transitions, resulting in a dense, high-energy session that reflects his current maximalist approach.

In conversation with Ryan Pivovar, Clouth discusses moving away from rigid concepts toward a more playful, process-driven workflow. Rather than over-curating, he’s focused on momentum, embracing spontaneity and letting ideas flow more freely.

The interview also explores his collaboration with Max Cooper, his thoughts on AI as both a creative tool and a challenge, and Noise Canvas, his self-built sound design software. Together, Cicada and the mix capture an artist loosening control, trusting instinct, and building toward a future album.

For IA MIX 398, @intertoto_music steps away from the traditional DJ format to deliver an exclusive live set composed of unreleased material and dubbed-out stems - a snapshot of a performance configuration currently taking shape. Immersed in a super dubby, murky atmosphere, the set gradually gives way to a handful of 4/4 excursions towards the closing stretch.

Keeping things deliberately minimal, the live setup centres around Ableton, recently expanded with Intech Studio MIDI controllers and coloured by a hands-on outboard effects chain. As Intertoto notes, even subtle shifts in processing can dramatically reshape the outcome - a philosophy that permeates the mix’s fluid, zoned-out energy. Recorded in the studio with headphones on, this is deep immersion: “some proper zoned out business…”
