For the 393rd edition of the Inverted Audio Mix Series, we are thrilled to present an hour-long sonic journey from @edenaurelius. Currently based in New York, Eden’s spent many years immersed in the DIY and club scenes of NYC and Chicago, her previous home before relocating two years ago.
Last year’s debut ‘Pleateau’ was one of our favourite releases of 2024. A potent mixture of ambient and dub techno, ‘Pleateau’ has only gotten better in the spin around the sun since it was released. It hooks you in with its unhurried rhythms that pulse with a vibrant spirit. The album feels like a welcome time out from the anxieties of constant connections and endless news cycles.
Along with recent output by Purelink (who are friends and collaborators), Eden’s work feels like an essential new chapter in the long, winding story of ambient dub. As Summer takes control, we caught up with Eden to talk about her musical beginnings, all time and current favourite albums, and upcoming projects.

Following the release of their second album last year, Adam Winchester and Laurie Osborne return as Wrecked Lightship on Peak Oil with their latest album 'Drained Strands', opening the hallowed doors of their submarine to all types of distorted fantasies.
As the name suggests, @wreckedlightship carries fractured memories of vessels forgotten in vast expanses, from the sea and beyond. The weight of their work conjures images of desolate landscapes beyond human reach, yet their invitation into this sonic vision becomes a ticket to inhabit the very space of extraterrestrials.
'Drained Strands' withholds a kind of extraordinary beauty that is more often felt than heard. This combined performance unit of solo acts Appleblim & Wedge exists in an untethered vortex - one built from scattered electronics and bruised hearts. All of this culminates in IA MIX 392, a studio mix where heavy scores of bass and a plethora of textures, some borrowed and some unheard, bubble together in a melting pot of comfort and disorder.

Singapore-born, now New York-based selector Marco Weibel (@marcoweibel) distills a potent transmission for IA MIX 391, a testament to the power of eclecticism when guided by a curator with impeccable taste. IA MIX 390 Earthen Sea

For the 390th edition of the IA MIX Series we are thrilled to share a deep dive into jazzy neo-noir ambience from American producer Jacob Long, aka Earthen Sea.
Currently based in New York City, Long is a DIY lifer, with over twenty years dedicated to Earthen Sea's wide range of sounds from long-form noise and drone recordings, minimal dub techno, and ethereal ambient experimentation. Long spent his early musical years in the Washington, D.C. hardcore group Black Eyes, before heading to San Francisco with bandmate Daniel Martin-McCormick to work with Damon Palermo on Mi Ami.
While all three members branched off into their own solo electronic projects (Ital/Relaxer for Martin-McCormick and Magic Touch for Palermo), Long's work as Earthen Sea originated in the early 2000s. It began with longer experiments in drone and ambient before morphing into the icy dub techno many came to know from releases on Kranky and Lover's Rock.
Recent LPs, such as 2024's Recollection, have veered to ambient, dub, and jazz-influenced tracks that consistently deliver the goods. For his mix, Earthen Sea offers an exhilarating combination of gamelan recordings, jazz, and dub techno. You will find it an ideal companion for your morning coffee or a night drive through empty, foggy cities. We also got to catch up with Jacob and learn about reuniting with Black Eyes, how recent live sets have incorporated saxophone driven drones, and his life-long love of skateboarding.
