Why do people walk away from where God has placed them? Drawing from Luke 15 and the story of the prodigal son, this message explores the dangers of leaving the spiritual family God has given us. Disconnection begins gradually through deception, pride, ungratefulness, selfishness, greed, or offence. When we fail to value where we belong, we may eventually find ourselves spiritually empty and broken. Uncover the spirits and attitudes behind why people leave and learn how to remain planted, faithful, and fruitful in where God has placed you.

Why is loyalty so important in the Kingdom of God? Drawing from 1 Corinthians 4:2, this message explores how faithfulness is required of every steward of God. Loyalty protects the unity, peace, and strength of the church, while disloyalty from within can slowly weaken it. Let us be aware of the subtle attitudes that may lead a person down the path of Judas—offence, passivity, criticism, rebellion; and may we cultivate a faithful heart that strengthens God’s house and advances His mission.

He explains what forgiveness is and is not, and, drawing from Timothy Keller, highlights three dimensions of forgiveness, showing how growth in one dimension inevitably affects the others. Preaching from Lamentations 3, Prof Frank Macchia reminds us that even amid the devastation of Jerusalem’s fall, God’s mercies never ceased towards His people. When all hope seemed lost, His compassion remained new every morning. 

Because God is love, He cannot cease loving. So Jesus forever altered His existence and took on flesh in order to reconcile humanity to God. He entered into the depths of our despair to redeem and restore us into the circle of love in communion with God!
