A Little or a Lot? Cheerfully or Grudgingly? Part 1
When it comes to giving, many pastors won’t touch the subject with a ten foot pole. That’s because many people get agitated or bothered when money is mentioned in the church, or due to negative experiences in the past. But Jesus had no problem talking about it. In fact, he addressed money and stewardship in 16 of his parables. Today on Abounding Grace we’re certainly not going to shy away from it as we go verse by verse through Second Corinthians. Chapter nine offers great principles for giving like how we should give and how much.

Have a Heart to Restore Part 1
I’m sure you can think of a time when someone said something really awful about you, behind your back, and it was untrue! Worse yet, people believed it, and before you know it, it was spread all over town. Sadly that sort of behavior has only gotten worse, with the advent of the internet. But how should we respond to that sort of thing? Do we lash out in anger or shutdown? Actually, there’s a much better way to go, and it’s modeled for us by the apostle Paul in Second Corinthians chapter two.

Boasting in Simplicity and Godly Sincerity Part 2
I think it’s safe to say we’ve all been misunderstood and had someone falsely accuse us of something. Worse yet is when people believe it, without even talking to you! Today on Abounding Grace we’ll see that this even happened to the apostle Paul. And how he dealt with it will provide helpful guidance for the next time it happens to us.

Boasting in Simplicity and Godly Sincerity Part 1
Maybe you’ve had some things that were said about you that were just not right or fair. Whether it’s in the form of gossip or slander, it can be downright hurtful. But you’re in good company, because the apostle Paul and even Jesus faced false accusations and criticism. Today on Abounding Grace pastor Ed Taylor will point to one such occasion in Paul’s life. And we’ll hear him answer a couple of the charges.

The God of All Comfort Part 2
Today we continue a series in Second Corinthians. In First Peter 4:12 we read “Beloved do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings.” We’re to expect suffering as we go through life, and as we’ll discover today God wants to be our comforter through it all.
