Samuel had been a faithful judge over Israel, and God had been nothing but good to His people. But the people of Israel lost sight of that, and cried out for a King. They rejected Samuel and the Lord without a legitimate reason, and in doing so were going to pay the price. But here in First Samuel chapter eleven pastor Ed Taylor observes a powerful move of the Holy Spirit, as good compassionate leadership helped to turn things around.

Today the plan is to cover more ground in First Samuel, and we left off in chapter ten. We’ve been learning recently how God leads and guides us by His Spirit. It doesn’t always line up with conventional thinking. Saul is about to become the first King of Israel, but before this happens he’s going to receive confirmation through three signs. Pastor Ed will relate this to our calling.
