The role of government is to judge the evildoer. Put another way… it’s to restrain evil and promote righteousness. And so governments and its judges are God’s ministers and should rightly represent Him. There’s an obvious breakdown that we’ll take note of in First Samuel chapter eight! And it led a nation of people into discouragement and disillusionment, crying out for a King!
