    The Nielson Show - June 18th, 2026 - Hour 3

    18/06/2026 | 52 min
We got the third hour started with Mr Mikes Kind of Easy Trivia.

It was then time for Three Questions Too Many presented by Park Mazda.

Dusty is away so the boys weren't able to do their traditional Scalding Hot Takes like they usually do on a Thursday's show. So instead, we each gave a realistic sports hot take.

We finished the show like we always do with The Wrap from William Huff.

    The Nielson Show - June 18th, 2026 - Hour 2

    18/06/2026 | 57 min
Bruce Boudreau was the first guest on today's show. We started off with his thoughts on the Hurricanes winning it all this year then transitioned to the underwhelming news that broke in Toronto yesterday with the announcement of their new bench boss. We then got into the Oilers conversation, he shared his thoughts on the ongoing coaching situation and shared whether or not Mike Babcock is the right man for the job. We finished with Bruce like we always do, with some WWE talk.

It was then time for the Play Alberta Early Bird Bet of the day.

After the break, we got into everyone's beefs from their week. What are the boys beefing about today?

We finished hour two with the one, the only, Reid Wilkins. Reid shared his beef, touched on the Elks home opener this Saturday and some Oilers talk.

    The Nielson Show - June 18th, 2026 - Hour 1

    18/06/2026 | 52 min
The big man Dustin Nielson is away today, but the studio is in excellent hands as Wil Fraser steps right into the driver's seat! The fellas are back together for the first time since last week, and they have a mountain of sports action, off-season drama, and massive local headlines to clear out of the notebook.

From World Cup fever taking over the West Coast to a critical sweep opportunity on the MLB diamond and an absolute logjam in the Oilers' front office, the boys have you completely covered.

We start by laying out the show and then diving right into Morning Announcements for Haddies Golf Shop to recap all the major headlines from last night in the world of sport.

After the break, we got into YouTube Trev's trade of the day. A surprising reaction we got in this one.

We finished hour one by getting Fired Up for Gemco Fireplaces. Today we are most certainly Fired Up about team Canada playing their second game of The World Cup later today against Qatar.

    The Nielson Show - June 17th, 2026 - Hour 3

    17/06/2026 | 53 min
We got the third hour started with Mr Mikes Kind of Easy Trivia.

It was then time for Three Questions Too Many presented by Park Mazda.

TSN's Ryan Rishaug wrapped up today's program to bring us the absolute latest inside scoop from the rink. Once he and Darren Dreger finally settled their ongoing network "beef," the boys got straight to work on a chaotic off-season board in Oil Country. Rishaug puts on his GM hat to map out what a realistic Darnell Nurse trade actually looks like and what kind of return Stan Bowman can realistically command. From there, the conversation shifts to the bench—unpacking the toxic fallout of the Mike Babcock coaching rumors. Rishaug weighs in on explosive reports that hiring Babcock could actively cripple the Oilers' chances of landing top-tier UFAs this summer and potentially fracture a locker room that's already under immense pressure.

We finished the show like we always do with The Wrap from William Huff.

    The Nielson Show - June 17th, 2026 - Hour 2

    17/06/2026 | 55 min
Former NHL netminder Jamie "Noodles" McLennan dropped by to kick off the show, and we immediately hit the ground running with some massive breaking news: Jim Hiller has officially been named the 41st head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Noodles reacts to the hiring, breaks down why Hiller was the ultimate choice for John Chayka's front office, and looks at who else was left on Toronto's shortlist. Plus, we break down the logic behind the Maple Leafs' recent trade before shifting our attention to the blue paint in Edmonton. With the off-season fully underway, Noodles weighs in on reports connecting the Oilers to Canadiens goaltender Samuel Montembeault and highlights a few other high-upside goalie targets Stan Bowman should be calling.

It was then time for the Play Alberta Early Bird Bet of the day.

In the middle of hour two, we then got into Weekly Advice for Damon Bunting. Plenty of CFL fantasy advice from the boys today.

We finished hour two with Lt. Eric's Weekly Rankings of Power presented by The Ranch Golf & Country Club. Today, Lt. Eric ranked the top 10 reasons the Maple Leafs hired Jim Hiller as their new head coach.
