ESPN's Greg Wyshynski closed out today's show to give us his national perspective on the Oilers' early-season performance. From there, Wysh shared his take on the situation brewing with the Detroit Red Wings before taking a quick lap around the rest of the league with the latest NHL headlines and news.
 
We finished the show like we always do with The Wrap from William Huff.

Today's episode kicked off with Craig Button, who joined us to chop it up about Michigan football before diving into all things hockey. After talking gridiron, Craig broke down the Oilers' performance so far and weighed in on how Mike Babcock might manage the team's goaltending rotation. With Edmonton trade rumors swirling, we got his take on Kirby Dach and whether he'd be a smart fit for the lineup. To wrap up, Craig shared his thoughts on the California teams, tried to make sense of the situation in Detroit, and dropped his biggest takeaways from week one of the NHL season.

Dustin Nelson capped off hour two with an audio test as he is on the road calling his first NHL game of the season, but we had to address some audio issues first.

The first segment we hit was Morning Announcements for Haddies Golf Shop to recap everything that transpired yesterday in the world of sports.
 
After the break, we got into The Fan Zone for Northern Gauge to discuss who should start in net for the Oilers for the next couple of games. We also played five minutes of Mike Babcock in this segment as well.
 
We capped off hour one by getting Fired Up for Gemco Fireplaces to discuss a potential trade that involves Kirby Dach coming to Edmonton… Could this actually happen? And who's going the other way if this trade is made.

The boys had plenty of questions and Gager had all the answers. We then got into the hockey talk as there was an Oilers game from the weekend and Devon Levi bounced back in a big way!

TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger kicked off today's show by diving straight into the Oilers' opening trio of games, weighing the early positives and negatives. Dreger also provided an update on a weekend trade rumor tracking a young center out East, gave his take on Devon Levi's second outing, and projected who should get the nod in net next. Plus, he weighed in on rookie Owen Michaels' early NHL action and touched on the difficult environment brewing in Detroit right now.
