    The Nielson Show - May 12th, 2026 - Hour 2

    12/05/2026 | 55 min
We kick off today's show with Craig Button, and he didn't hold back on the rumors swirling around 104th Avenue. With reports that the Oilers have sought permission to interview former Golden Knights coach Bruce Cassidy, Craig gave us a 'reality check' on the coaching carousel. He argued passionately that while Cassidy is a proven winner, a change behind the bench won't fix the fundamental roster flaws—specifically a -13 goal differential—that have plagued this team all season. We then shift our focus to the Western Conference semifinals, where the Colorado Avalanche took a commanding 3-1 series lead over the Wild. Craig breaks down how Colorado's depth players, like Parker Kelly and Ross Colton, have turned the tide while the stars were under fire.

It was then time for the Play Alberta Early Bird Bet of the day.

We then got to Weekly Confessions for Spectrum Rent All. Plenty of great confessions from the boys today, especially YTT...

To cap off hour two, CPKC Women's Open Tournament director, Brian Newton joined the show to highlight this event.

    12/05/2026 | 53 min
It's a massive Tuesday morning in the sports world, and the fallout from a wild night in the NHL and NBA has the city buzzing. Dusty and the fellas are back to recap the destruction, dive into the mounting pressure in Oil Country, and look ahead at what could be a franchise-altering week in Edmonton.

We start off the show with Morning Announcements for Haddies Golf Shop to recap all the sports action from last night.

After the break, we hit on YouTube Trev's trade of the day which unlike yesterday, was very well received and during this segment some news from Frank Seravalli broke regarding Oilers coaching.

To cap off hour one it was time for Dusty to get Fired Up for Gemco Fireplaces. What Dusty is fired up about today is where LeBron takes his career now?

We got the third hour started with Mr Mikes Kind of Easy Trivia.

It was then time for Three Questions Too Many presented by Park Mazda.

Joaquin Gage was the final guest on today's show. With Gage today we talked all things Oilers. What's the plan going forward? Is it best to try and move Nurse or should they just ride this contract out? And what's going on with Bowman and Knoblauch? Gage had all the answers.

We finished the show like we always do with The Wrap from William Huff.

    The Nielson Show - May 11th, 2026 - Hour 2

    11/05/2026 | 58 min
We kick off the week with TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger, who helps us navigate the eerie 'calm before the storm' in Edmonton. With the offseason officially underway, Dregs weighs in on the brewing power struggle at 104th Ave—is it a bigger risk to stay the course with the current coaching staff, or to hit the reset button behind the bench yet again? We then shift our focus East, where the Montreal Canadiens have the hockey world buzzing after a dominant Game 3 win over Buffalo. Dregs breaks down just how 'legit' this Habs run is before reacting to the Carolina Hurricanes making history with their second straight sweep. With the Canes now facing a massive 12-day layoff before the Eastern Conference Final, we discuss whether the rest will be a blessing or a rhythm-killer for the league's hottest team.

It was then time for the Play Alberta Early Bird Bet of the day.

After the break, we got into MMMMMM That's Good presented by The Italian Centre Shop. What's good today is the CFL season is right around the corner and the Elks roster is certainly looking good.

We finished hour two with some Offseason, What Offseason for GCL Diesel to touch on some potential trade rumours…
