TSN Hockey Insider Chris Johnston joined the show off the top, and we immediately plunged into all things Oil Country. CJ shared his initial thoughts on Stan Bowman's aggressive opening-day strategy in Free Agency and laid out what he expects next from management now that the Oilers are flush with new cap flexibility. From there, we toured the league to get CJ's inside scoop on the developing drama surrounding Norris-winner Zach Werenski in Columbus, the Winnipeg Jets' active trade discussions involving Connor Hellebuyck, and an update on Dylan Larkin. Plus, CJ broke down the breaking news regarding Connor Bedard's practice injury in BC before wrapping up with his definitive free agency winners and losers.
 
It was then time for the Play Alberta Early Bird Bet of the day.
 
After the break, we got into Offseason, What Offseason presented by GCL Diesel. For the first time in a long time the Oilers have cap space… would you like to see the Oilers use that money asap, or should they wait it out?
 
Dustin Nielson finished hour two with his thoughts on the Oilers moves on Free Agency, he gave a grade on the day as well and finished with some CFL talk.

A very busy morning with some slight technical issues, but YouTube Trev the tech wizard, got it all sorted out. The fellas got right into Morning Announcements for The Rundle Park Short Course to recap some of the headlines from yesterday in the world of sport.
 
After the break, we got right into MMMMMM That's Good presented by The Italian Centre Shop to discuss how good Vernon Adams Jr. was for the Stampeders last night and how good the CFL season has been as a whole.
 
We then capped off one like we always do on a Friday's show by cracking some packs Powered by Wayne's Sports Cards & Collectables.

Bruce Boudreau joined us off the top today to break down the Oilers' massive free-agency moves. We started with the Darnell Nurse situation, dove into what defenseman Ryan Shea brings to the blue line, and evaluated the recent goaltending shakeups and the Kasperi Kapanen extension. We also flipped the script to look at general manager Stan Bowman's restrained approach, discussing why sometimes the best moves are the ones you don't make. Finally, we cruised around the rest of the NHL, tracking the Toronto Maple Leafs' busy afternoon and catching up on the biggest signings from across the league.
