    Hear about the history and arectectural significance of the Sarah Elliot House, located on 849 Front Rd. S. Amherstburg, Ontario. The house was built in 1835 by Sarah Elliott and her son Robert Barclay Elliott. The house is on the family farm, just south of the original house which was built c.1784 and no longer exists.     As we continue our journey to learn of historical buildings in Amherstburg, this episode will highlight the Lighthouse Baptist Church, located at 266 King Street. We will be talking about the history of the building, the architecture, as well as welcoming the Pastor from the Church: Dr. Adrian Ninaber, Lead Pastor, as a guest. Adrian and his wife Rose, have a heart for people and families. They reach out to hurting families in the community through grief support and divorce counselling. Adrian holds two masters degrees and a doctorate and is also a Word Class Powerlifter. Adrian and Rose love the outdoors and spending time with their beautiful grandchildren.   • Little White Church
    As we continue our journey to learn of historical buildings in Amherstburg, this episode will discuss what locals in the community know as the “Little White Church”. For this podcast, local historians Robert Honor and Stephanie Pouget Papak, will provide an overview of this building. Robert is a native of Amherstburg and retired from Parks Canada at Fort Malden National Historic Site of Canada. His Interests are fine arts, architecture and heritage. Robert is an artist, member of Amherstburg Heritage Committee, Belle Vue Conservancy and Architectural Conservancy of Ontario. Stephanie is a historian who studied History and Education at the University of Windsor. Her current research examines culinary history, local History and history of sexuality. She works in museum curation and is a member of two historical committees. We then introduce the co-owner and designer of this new hotel and lodging space, Greg Grondin and Jacquie Grondin. Business Owner: Greg Grondin, 47 years young, married my wife Cathy with 2 children (18 year old girl Lauren and 15 year old boy Ryan). Born and raised on the family farm at the end of Howard. Grandfather and oldest brother were married in the church. Drew and I childhood friends that always talked about doing something together and this came for sale. Co own , Morton Industrial Sales and Service, GL Heritage Brewing Co, Pepper Cat Restaurant and The Little White Church. Designer of space: Jacquie Grondin - 41 years old. Born and raised in Amherstburg. Married Dean Grondin (brother to Greg) in 2000 (21 years) 2 Daughters Elyssa (19) & Natalie (17) raised them on the family farm across from The Little White Church. Cherished many years as a stay-at-home mom volunteering weekly to Malden Central Public School. Graduated from the Interior Design Program receiving the Faculty Academic Award in 2020. ~ Drew and wife Kary Coulson are very much part of our tribe, beginning with Dean and Drew's friendship and strengthening with wives.
