    SNOWBOUND - Misery (1990)

    02/04/2026 | 47 min
It’s now April, but we are still covered in snow over in Haunted Homebody land! Join us as Ashley reveals yet another embarrassing and questionable young adult memory about another wintery Stephen King adaptation, Misery. Is Sara okay after watching *that* scene? You know the one… And were we wrong to assume that the King of Horror could ever be considered cozy? And do we ever actually answer any of these theoretical intro questions? Probably not, but we at least have a lot of fun trying.

    SNOWBOUND - The Shining (1980)

    26/03/2026 | 48 min
There was a time when, asked what our favorite cozy horror movie was, we may have said, first: what is cozy horror? And then, maybe… The Shining? But it is not this day. Today, we will be chatting all about this adaptation of the Stephen King classic, deciding whether we find this movie cozy and whether it still “hits the spot” as a wintery horror rewatch.

    19/03/2026 | 53 min
The Donner Pass is named after one of the most harrowing and tragic tales in American history. Not surprisingly the area is now haunted AF. But it is not just ghost dogs and badass pioneer women who haunt this infamous area. It is also haunted by its own incredibly treacherous landscape, which just keeps proving that, even with incredible progress, in the battle of man vs. nature, nature will always win.
From creepy train tunnels with tragic origin stories to even more moments that make you ask, “How is this a real story and not part of some movie?”, we hope you enjoy the haunted history and happenings of California’s Donner Pass.

    SNOWBOUND - The Donner Party

    12/03/2026 | 1 h 12 min
Howdy, homebodies! Are you ready for the trip of a lifetime? If you ever played The Oregon Trail computer game growing up (hey, fellow millennials!), then this episode will be right up your alley. If you also are a fan of harrowing cross-country treks, stories with real-life villains and heroes, and dark tales with lukewarm endings, then this episode is also for you. And if nothing else, the almost entirely tragic tale of the Donner Party will make you very appreciative of a warm, cozy bed. Grab a warm drink and an extra blanket, and enjoy the first and likely snowiest episode of our snowbound theme.
