    Arsecast Extra Episode 711 - 07.09.2026

    07/09/2026 | 1 h 29 min
In this episode we chat about the 2-1 win over Chelsea on Sunday, starting with Arsenal falling behind early on, but reacting really well and playing the kind of football that really connects with fans. We discuss the impact of the front four, but also the way the two full backs add a lot to our forward play, even if that does leave us a bit more open than we're used to. We analyse the goals from Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard, David Raya's influence on the team, the way second half changes impacted our techincal level, as well as incidents involving Declan Rice and Morgan Rogers and Gabriel and Emi Martinez's head, before we end part one with a look at how our opening three games have gone so far. In part two we answer listener questions about potential rotation for the game against Napoli in midweek, whether Mikel Merino might be a better deputy for Kai Havertz and where that leaves Viktor Gyokeres, pace in the team, the kind of attackers we should be targetting in future transfer windows, and lots more besides.

    Episode 891 - Window closed

    03/09/2026 | 1 h 6 min
In this episode I'm joined by Charles Watts to discuss the end of the transfer window after it closed without Arsenal adding another attacker to the squad, despite high profile pursuits and the departure of players who contributed last season. How does that stack up in terms of how competitive the team will be this season, and could the club have done things differently when it came to players like Morgan Rogers, Vinicius Junior and Julian Alvarez. We also chat about the options for the left-hand side now, and what looks like a big opportunity for Eberechi Eze, as well Andrea Berta's work during this window, what some of our Premier League rivals have done, and lots more.

Here's the Malick Fofana thread mentioned - https://bsky.app/profile/emmanuellaine.bsky.social/post/3muj5vjntr22d

    Arsecast Extra Episode 710 - 01.09.2026

    01/09/2026 | 1 h 34 min
In this episode we chat about the 1-0 win over Aston Villa on Monday night. We discuss the timing of our visit there, the influence of Riccardo Calafiori, Bukayo Saka's second goal in as many games, a difficult night for Christos Tzolis, and an encouraging one for second half substitute Bruno Guimaraes. We then turn to transfer deadline day and what kind of business we expect Arsenal to do before 11pm this evening. We know there will be departures, but can we bring in another attacker before the deadline. There's also analysis of the window as a whole and the role of Andrea Berta – should Arsenal be in a position this late in the window to be exploring emergency/desperate options because we've left ourselves short of numbers? We also have listener questions about Viktor Gyokeres, Martinelli moments and lots more.

Episode 890 - The last few days of the window

    27/08/2026 | 1 h 2 min
In this episode I'm joined by Harry Symeou of the Chronicles of a Gooner podcast to chat about Arsenal's start to the season, and ways in which Mikel Arteta will keep his team motivated throughout the season as we look to defend/attack our Premier League title. Inevitably, the discussion moves to the transfer window and whether or not Arsenal will do anything before the close of the window. There's a lot of chat about Julian Alvarez, but how realistic is any potential deal? It's complicated for myriad reasons, but we delve into that, the potential departure of Gabriel Martinelli as well as other players who are surplus to requirements, and lots more.
