If you’d like to support our work or celebrate the folks who make it happen visit our Patreon at patreon.com(backslash)monkeymanproductions. Today our Crowdfundr shoutout is to James Des Cotes and Jeff Xilon. Thank you for your support! This time around, I’m here to recommend a story steeped in a world of myth – Forged Bonds, an emotionally captivating retelling of the story of Aphrodite and Hephaestus. I’ve been caught up in it since the first episode, and if anything about mythology, love stories, and political entwinement catches your interest, you should check it out.  For us, we’ll be getting ready for our next monologue minisode – and Karo is visiting an old friend but someone completely new to us – Enoch, the Mothman! It’ll be a quieter story after this episode seeing the kaiju, but I think you’ll enjoy! Until then! • WFO Presents - The Vesta Clinic!
Hey everyone. My name is Tina, I'm one of the producers on Waiting For October. And while we don't have a new episode for you this week, we do have an episode of an audio drama that we adore, and we want to share it with you. The show is called The Vesta Clinic. Most of you have probably listened to this show. We talked about them in the Moonbase Theta, Out days, they talked about us. We just - we really love the show. We love AMC, so we are telling you about it again. If you haven't listened, the show follows the Vesta Clinic, specifically their newest doctor, Dr Underwood, who absolutely, definitely, without a doubt, knows what she's doing. We promise. Probably, you know, maybe don't quote us on that, because you'll just, you'll just have to listen to the show and find out. But Dr Underwood is an absolute gem. This is a sci-fi audio drama. It tells hopeful and compassionate tales of sentient life from the asteroid belt and beyond. And honestly, it is just the most whimsical, wholesome, super queer space show, if you're into, like, episodic, like happy, honestly, just shows that are gonna make you happy. And I love a good trauma and angst show just as much as anyone else. But honestly, right now, I don't need any more of that, if you know what I mean. So anyway, you can find The Vesta Clinic on your podcast player of choice, or you can visit them at their website. It's thevestaclinic.com - they have links to their Patreon, their episodes, all good stuff like that. And really you should listen to it and let us know what you think. No more babbling for me, here is the episode. *** Episode Transcript: https://www.thevestaclinic.com/episodes/episode-1-the-pilot *** Waiting For October: Network: https://fableandfolly.com/ Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@wfo86 Tumblr: @monkeymanproductions Discord: https://discord.gg/6NAhrG5 Facebook: Monkeyman Productions BlueSky: @monkeyman.bsky.social Merch: http://tee.pub/lic/zUb0YN1_6mw Learn more about your ad choices. Sylvis, with sound design by Caroline Mincks, and music by Trace Callahan. This episode featured Dallas Hawthorne as Grey, Ted Heavner as Were 1 Angie Min as Were 2, and Adam Qutaishat as Karim. Our co-producers are D.J. Sylvis, Tina Case, and Sarah Müller. Our associate producers are Fool & Scholar Productions, Kathleen Lucas, Marcus Briggs, Martin Chodorek, Rebekah B. A special thanks to our Patreon supporters who have helped make all of our stories happen! If you’d like to support our work or celebrate the folks who make it happen visit our Patreon at patreon.com/monkeymanproductions. Today our Crowdfundr shoutout is to Elizabeth Lyon and Emma Houtz. Thank you for your support! Sliding in with another show to suggest for your listening pleasure – and this one is from our composer, Trace Callahan. Go into your podcast app and look for The Last Echoes – it’s a political sci-fi story that’s deeply fascinating and deeply meaningful.  We’ll return to October next episode, but without one of our lead characters! It’s time for Yvonne to have her solo mission … though it might not turn out quite as solo as she thinks. Until then, snap that fanny pack into place and get back on the trail!  Network: https://fableandfolly.com/ Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@waitingforoct Tumblr: @monkeymanproductions Discord: https://discord.gg/6NAhrG5 Facebook: Monkeyman Productions BlueSky: @monkeyman.bsky.social Merch: http://tee.pub/lic/zUb0YN1_6mw Learn more about your ad choices. Today our Crowdfundr shoutout is to Chloe Kuypers and Claudia Elvidge. I’d like to recommend a show from our sound designer, Caroline Mincks – Seen and Not Heard! It’s an absolutely one of a kind award-winning audio drama about hearing loss, deaf gain, and navigating the world through changing circumstances. They just started their second season, and it’s a must-listen.  On our end, next episode will focus on our best werewolf boy, Grey, as he gives some advice to his pack. Take care until then, keep your arms and legs inside the vortex, and watch your step when you exit the crossing! • WFO Presents - Forgive Me!
Hello, how is everyone doing today? I don't have a new episode of our show today, but I do have an episode of a wonderful show called Forgive Me that I wanted to share with you guys. And I'm gonna rat myself out here. I have re recorded this probably five times because-- I won't lie, I just start talking about the show, and I look up and it's been like eight minutes, and that's a lot of intro time if I'm still expecting you to listen to this show. So [laughs] I'm gonna try to condense all of it and control the rambling, which, if you've listened to Moonbase Theta Out, you know, is not something that we're good at.  But anyway, Forgive Me, right? It is the story of Father Ben, who, to put it in the nicest, most succinct terms, he's a try hard young Catholic priest. That's -that's just the way it is, and they just reassigned him from Binghampton to St Patrick's, a new parish in upstate New York, [pause] and we don't know why. He's very, very cagey about it, and he won't tell anybody. He sometimes is very good, and by very good, I mean very bad, about abruptly changing the subject when it comes up. So nobody really knows. The show itself is structured as Father Ben taking confessionals from his new parishioners, and he's kind of getting to know the town that way, and it does eventually evolve and tells more of the story of the town, but it's a wonderful way to kind of get introduced to these people, and you know, Father Ben himself. Forgive Me does such a good job at portraying this heartfelt and human story about modern faith that you know, sometimes it's funny, it's frank, it's engaging, and at the same time, sometimes it's a little sad. And- I have no idea how they do it, but they manage to both be respectful and super critical of the community that it takes place in. And on that note, for all of my fellow religious trauma people, I had a lot of concerns when I started listening to the show, I was like, the Catholic Church is like the main character?? And this Catholic father, priest person, we like him, and we have positive thoughts --- how's this gonna go, especially if we're following the church in their day to day? Like, I was high key stressed out because-- I loved the creators. The actors were really good, and I [sigh] I kept waiting essentially, for the other shoe to drop. And if this is you, and if you're at all nervous about it--- episode three. Like, I don't know if this was consciously done or not, but, man, they did not waste time. They immediately- like my biggest "mmm- hang on, I have concerns!!" -- episode three, I finished the episode, I was crying, and I was like, "This is great. Okay, I'm good. I can stay here. This is awesome."  And honestly, I could keep talking about it. The show is fantastic, but honestly, the best way to get across how good it is is just going to be to let you guys listen. So if you like what you hear, you can find them under Forgive me on all of your podcast feeds and the website with transcripts and credits and all of that good stuff is Rogue Dialogue dot com backslash, forgive dash me, [spells out url] roguediaglogue.com/forgive-me  Enjoy the show. *** Episode Transcript: https://roguedialogue.com/fm-transcript-301 *** Waiting For October: Network: https://fableandfolly.com/ Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@wfo86 Tumblr: @monkeymanproductions Discord: https://discord.gg/6NAhrG5 Facebook: Monkeyman Productions BlueSky: @monkeyman.bsky.social Merch: http://tee.pub/lic/zUb0YN1_6mw Learn more about your ad choices.
