Today our Crowdfundr shoutout is to Mary Anne Matos and Whitney Frisk. Thank you for your support! I thought after Karo’s journey today, it was a good time to suggest you listen to one of my favourite cryptid stories about watery adventures - Come On In The Water’s Fine, by friend of the show Shade Oyemakinwa. It’s an anthology of mermaid stories that is dreamy and engrossing and it all flows so beautifully in Shade’s amazing voice. Listen with your eyes closed.  Getting back to October, next episode we’re going to hear a monologue from Yvonne, fresh off the mountain and her kaiju adventure! Until then, keep an eye out for interesting rock formations, never hand over your torch to a Raven, and don’t be a stranger! • WFO Presents - Give Me Away!
Hey everyone. My name is Tina, I’m one of the producers here on Waiting for October, and I wanted to talk to you today about another show that we have been listening to and we love, and we wanted to share it with you. This one’s kind of interesting, because– I know that, like what we do in the audio drama community is –we share each other’s shows. Uh, “Every audio drama is like a gateway drug,” right? You listen to one and then you track your favorite voice actors down, or you hear an ad and you go listen to it. But I am so bad about– I will not listen to a show if I don’t know what it’s about. And sometimes, even if I do, my brain goes “Nope. Not today!”  But for whatever reason, I decided to “yolo” this one, like– The show is called, Give Me Away, right? And I’d heard people talk about it, I knew people who had listened to it, had worked on the show. And I’m still like, “That’s nice, and that exists.” But eventually [pause] it became a little bit of –the show is written by Mac Rogers, right? And I had listened to The Message. I had listened to Life After. (We don’t need to talk about how long ago that was, because I didn’t realize it until I started recording this. And boy, does that make me a little sad.) But, um, anyway, like there was that faith in the creator, so I was like, “Hmm, okay, let’s try it. I’m still not real clear about what this is about, but we’re gonna try it.” And I did, and it was [an] immediate like, “Oh, good. It’s a married couple fighting, my favorite genre ever,” [pauses in divorcee] but I stuck with it, and I’m so glad that I did, because they’re fighting and it gets awkward, and it is immediately apparent that there is a Big Event that happens, something happened to do with aliens. And you’re like, “Wait what? I thought we were just having a domestic dispute?? And like, the Give Me Away part– that makes sense!!” [because marriage context] And no, no, it turns out that’s not what the show is about at all.  Find the rest of the intro transcript at: https://monkeymanproductions.com/2025/04/wfo-give-me-away-intro/ *** Give Me Away Episode Transcript: https://static1.squarespace.com/static/59bdb80ce3df28bd2da397e0/t/60f0d40106e5cb5c82603e24/1626395656235/GMA+E1+Transcript.pdf *** Waiting For October: Network: https://fableandfolly.com/ Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@wfo86 Tumblr: @monkeymanproductions Discord: https://discord.gg/6NAhrG5 Facebook: Monkeyman Productions BlueSky: @monkeyman.bsky.social Merch: http://tee.pub/lic/zUb0YN1_6mw Learn more about your ad choices. Sylvis, with sound design by Caroline Mincks, and music by Trace Callahan. This episode featured David S. Dear as Enoch, Robin Regalado as Karo, and Caroline Mincks as Young'un. A special thanks to our Patreon supporters who have helped make all of our stories happen! If you’d like to support our work or celebrate the folks who make it happen visit our Patreon at patreon.com(backslash)monkeymanproductions Today our Crowdfundr shoutout is to Jenny Sylvis and Marissa Robertcop. Today, I’m recommending an audio drama from one of our cast members - Adam Qutaishat, who plays our werebear Karim - you’ll hear more from him soon! The show is called Vigil, and it’s an intense, engrossing superhero thriller that’s uniquely told and performed. Find it anywhere you listen, and let them know we sent you.  Next episode here, it’s Karo’s turn for a solo quest, where they’re headed … do you know? Can you guess? Would it help if I told you the guest stars are our Raven, Cole Burkhardt playing one of the Gill folks, and … no, I’ll hold back that last one, that gives it all away! For now, keep an eye on the treetops when you’re out at night, praise the lord and pass the taters! Today our Crowdfundr shoutout is to James Des Cotes and Jeff Xilon. Thank you for your support! This time around, I’m here to recommend a story steeped in a world of myth – Forged Bonds, an emotionally captivating retelling of the story of Aphrodite and Hephaestus. I’ve been caught up in it since the first episode, and if anything about mythology, love stories, and political entwinement catches your interest, you should check it out.  For us, we’ll be getting ready for our next monologue minisode – and Karo is visiting an old friend but someone completely new to us – Enoch, the Mothman! It’ll be a quieter story after this episode seeing the kaiju, but I think you’ll enjoy! Until then! • WFO Presents - The Vesta Clinic!
Hey everyone. My name is Tina, I'm one of the producers on Waiting For October. And while we don't have a new episode for you this week, we do have an episode of an audio drama that we adore, and we want to share it with you. The show is called The Vesta Clinic. Most of you have probably listened to this show. We talked about them in the Moonbase Theta, Out days, they talked about us. We just - we really love the show. We love AMC, so we are telling you about it again. If you haven't listened, the show follows the Vesta Clinic, specifically their newest doctor, Dr Underwood, who absolutely, definitely, without a doubt, knows what she's doing. We promise. Probably, you know, maybe don't quote us on that, because you'll just, you'll just have to listen to the show and find out. But Dr Underwood is an absolute gem. This is a sci-fi audio drama. It tells hopeful and compassionate tales of sentient life from the asteroid belt and beyond. And honestly, it is just the most whimsical, wholesome, super queer space show, if you're into, like, episodic, like happy, honestly, just shows that are gonna make you happy. And I love a good trauma and angst show just as much as anyone else. But honestly, right now, I don't need any more of that, if you know what I mean. So anyway, you can find The Vesta Clinic on your podcast player of choice, or you can visit them at their website. It's thevestaclinic.com - they have links to their Patreon, their episodes, all good stuff like that. And really you should listen to it and let us know what you think. No more babbling for me, here is the episode. *** Episode Transcript: https://www.thevestaclinic.com/episodes/episode-1-the-pilot *** Waiting For October: Network: https://fableandfolly.com/ Tiktok: https://www.tiktok.com/@wfo86 Tumblr: @monkeymanproductions Discord: https://discord.gg/6NAhrG5 Facebook: Monkeyman Productions BlueSky: @monkeyman.bsky.social Merch: http://tee.pub/lic/zUb0YN1_6mw Learn more about your ad choices.
