#11 [ACTUAL PLAY] - Starforged
Hello and welcome back to The Solo RolePlayers Podcast. Join me today on this first episode of the new year for another actual play of the much lauded Ironsworn: StarForged.
In this episode, as always, I get a book off my shelf and get it to the table with the minimal amount of preparation possible. I hope to give you an idea of what the game is like and give you some courage to just start playing yourself without getting bogged down in the need to feel like everything is perfect and you are totally prepared (you never are anyway).
We do a lot of world building in the ep and give you a feel for what it is like setting up a story with this system, and move into testing out some of the mechanics and getting the story off the ground toward the end.
Hope you enjoy this long overdue play of StarForged.

[BONUS] - The Solo RolePlayer's Challenge
This could be the push you need to finally get brave, take your pen in hand and actually play!
For this episode of the show I just felt the urge to jump on the mic and talk directly to you, the very nearly solo role-player. Take on the challenge that I have set and refer to the details at the bottom of the show notes.
I also just talk a bit about what I have been playing, what I want to get to the table and some future ideas for the show. This is a Bonus! and won't take away from the SRPP schedule. I just wanted to check in and say gday.
The Solo RolePlayers Challenge:
Condition of Entry - You must have never successfully sat down and solo-role played a whole session. (you'll know it when you see it)
Pick a game (small recommended but can be anything). Set everything up and just before you start, hit record on voice memo's or similar and then...:
1. Introduce yourself (real first name or screen name), say where you are and that you are taking on the solo role-players challenge
2 Briefly introduce the game you have chosen, perhaps why, and say how you are feeling. Nervous? Excited? Overwhelmed?
3. Stop recording and play a session. If you hit a wall push through. Fudge rules. Ret-con, whatever you need to do to keep going for 'a sessions' worth of time (again you'll know it when you see it)
4. Hit record again and briefly tell us about your experience. Easier/Harder than you thought? Things that tripped you up, worked well...how do you feel now? What's next?
[Try and keep each section short and sweet, I am going for like 30 secs maybe? but no punishment for going over....you might just get edited]
Wrap it up in your favourite audio format (whatever it comes out as is fine, I can make most things work) and email it to:
[email protected] by Sat 21st Dec and I will see about putting everything together and releasing it as an episode for the new year.
If you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out!
Now go. Book in slot into your calendar and I'll hear from you soon.
