Hey folks! Eira here. This is just a reminder that the Q&A inbox will be closing tomorrow night at midnight BST! Get all your vampire related questions in before then. I'll be looking to answer as many as I can, just go to hangingslothstudios.com/qna and send your questions there. That's hangingslothstudios dot com forward slash Q N A, that's the letters 'q' for quite, 'n' for not and 'a' for... aardvark. Also! Another one of my shows, Remnants, is returning today for its second season. Remnants is a dark fantasy mystery show about a guy trapped in a strange, dreamlike space filled with objects which hold the memories of the dead. He doesn't know why he's there or what the purpose of searching through these objects is, and the only person he has to help is the mysterious and obtuse Sir, who is some kind of... thing. There are already 30 episodes out, plus today's brand new 31st episode. Here's the trailer for Season Two. Don't worry; there are no spoilers for S1 here, just vibes. TRAILER: [WHOOSH][MUSIC BOX STARTS]SIRDoes it worry you that everything is different? APPRENTICEHonestly, I think it would worry me more if it was the same. [WHOOSH][MUSIC BOX STARTS, SLOWER]‘Who are you?’ he asks.‘I don’t know anymore. I’m not sure I ever did.’ [WHOOSH][MUSIC BOX STARTS, EVEN SLOWER]APPRENTICENo it— well it is your fault, frankly, but there’s no point in getting angry with you about it. You said that to me.[WHOOSH][MUSIC BOX CRANKS, BUT DOESN'T START]Remnants returns for its second season on 6th October, 2025.- .... . / --- -. .-.. -.-- / .-- .- -.-- / --- ..- - / .. ... / - .... .-. --- ..- --. .... Feed Drop: The Holmwood Foundation, a modern sequel to Dracula with ghosts, conspiracies and heartfelt feelings
Hey, it’s Eira! Today I’d like to introduce you to a fabulous show, the Holmwood Foundation. It’s a modern sequel to the classic Victorian gothic vampire novel, Dracula. The story follows co-workers Maddie and Jeremy who become possessed by the ghosts of Mina and Jonathan Harker. Beginning at the Holmwood Foundation, an organisation which has been studying Dracula’s remains for the last 130 years, our possessed protagonists end up on a road-trip which they hope will give the ghosts of the Harkers what they want; to get rid of Dracula once and for all. It’s a really stellar show which explores identity and self-discovery, family loyalty and devotion, and it has some lovely accompanying artwork. There is just one more episode of the show left to come, and it’ll be out on 19th of August, which means you have plenty of time to catch up on the first six episodes, but won’t have to wait long for the story to be completed. A transcript for the episode you're about to listen to is in the description below. You can find more of the show wherever you listen to podcasts, including where you're listening right now, by searching ‘The Holmwood Foundation’. It’s the show with the sketch of the dismembered head on the cover. That's 'H-O-L-M-W-O-O-D Foundation. The Holmwood Foundation! I hope you enjoy listening to this first episode of the show. LV: Acts of Will & Mercy, or The Wake
Alfie risks everything to put an end to bonham’s work once and for all. What he finds is more - and less - than he bargained for. As an A&E nurse, Alfie deals with horror everyday, but almost being killed by a walking corpse and being saved by a vampire takes things a bit far, even for him. The vampire is Casper. He’s hundreds of years old, and hell-bent on finding out what's causing walking corpses to wander the streets of Alfie's hometown. Now they've met, Alfie and Casper can't seem to leave each other alone, despite their best efforts. Alfie learns that the relationship between vampires and humans is more complicated than just predator and prey. Whatever Casper's misgivings about his own kind, and himself, Alfie is inexorably drawn closer and closer, in a heady, carnal blend of horror, hunger, love and lust. Not Quite Dead is a (mostly) single narrator gory horror romance audio drama exploring themes of identity, sexuality and death. Totalling 40 episodes over 3 completed seasons, with S4 on the way in 2025.This show is part of the Rusty Quill Network, and is created independently by Eira Major (AKA Hanging Sloth) who writes, sound designs, and performs as Alfie and Neige. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
