In their first meeting of the season, Jokic got the better of his fellow All-Star center, notching 40 points, eight rebounds and 13 assists. Jamal Murray added 15 points and 10 assists for Denver, who has won eight-in-a-row.
Wembanyama totaled an impressive 34 points, 18 rebounds and five blocks but missed the game-winning jumper at the end of regulation and was limited to only two shot attempts in the extra frame.
De'Aaron Fox struggled with 14 points on 7-of-19 shooting while missing all six of his three-point tries. Stephon Castle logged a 20-point, nine-assist afternoon.
San Antonio opens the final four-game home stand of the regular season on Monday, hosting Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and the Philadelphia 76ers.
