Stephon Castle put together the best game of his young life — 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting, a clutch three with under two minutes left, and the game-clinching free throws with six seconds on the clock. Together, Wemby and Castle became the first pair of teammates age 22 or younger to each score 20-plus points in an NBA Finals game.

The Spurs had 28 assists to New York's 18, dominated points off turnovers 21-7, and put up 35 points in the third quarter alone to take a lead they wouldn't give back. There's still work to do — this series is 2-1 — but today we're breaking down what went right, what can still get better, and why Game 3 might have changed everything.

Casey Viera and NBA champion Devin Brown recap the Spurs' 115-111 victory in Game 3 of the NBA Finals, pulling within 2-1 in the best-of-seven series thanks to Victor Wembanyama's strong showing and a dominant team defensive effort, snapping Jalen Brunson and the Knicks' 13-game playoff win streak. 

San Antonio's Frenchman totaled 32 points and nine rebounds, while Stephon Castle scored 23. De'Aaron Fox added 12 while Dylan Harper scored 13 off the bench. 

Jalen Brunson scored a team-high 32 points while OG Anunoby scored 28. Karl-Anthony Towns was limited to 10 points and eight rebounds.

The Spurs try to pull even in the series in Game 4 Wednesday at Madison Square Garden.

The Spurs are down 0-2, the series shifts to Madison Square Garden tonight, and San Antonio needs to make NBA history to win this thing. The Knicks are riding a 13-game playoff winning streak and are playing in front of a New York crowd that has been waiting for this moment since 1999 — the last time MSG hosted an NBA Finals game. Victor Wembanyama is averaging 27.5 points in this series but shooting just 40.5% from the field. The defensive load is taking a toll. Casey Viera and NBA champion Devin Brown break down the Spurs' Game 2 defeat to the Knicks, as Jalen Brunson and New York take a 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals against Victor Wembanyama and San Antonio. 

Wembanyama totaled 29 points and nine rebounds but missed two game-winning field goal attempts and turned over the ball with 9.5 seconds left in a 104-104 game, ultimately leading Brunson's game-clinching free throw. 

Karl-Anthony Towns scored a team-high 21 for New York while Mikal Bridges added 20. 

Brunson, Game 1's hero, was limited to 7-of-25 shooting, also resulting in 20 points. 

De'Aaron Fox notched 20 in the defeat while Dylan Harper scored 15 off the bench. 

The two teams resume the NBA Finals Monday as the series shifts to Madison Square Garden for Game 3.

GAME DAY! Tonight, the Spurs cannot afford to go down 2-0 at home. Victor Wembanyama said it himself after Game 1 — he needs to play better. Six turnovers, 6-for-21 from the field in Game 1, finding his offense would go a long way toward helping the Spurs tie this series before heading to New York.
