• RED SOX POSTCAST: Bats Silenced as Red Sox Close Out May with a Dud

  The Red Sox (28-32) closed out the month of May with a (5-0) loss to the Atlanta Braves Saturday afternoon at Truist Park in Atlanta. It's the 1st time this season the Red Sox have been shutout.  The Red Sox have lost 6 of 7 overall and 7 of their last 8 on the road. Spencer Schwellenbach celebrated his 25th Birthday on Saturday by striking out 11 and walking no one over 6.1 scoreless innings. The Red Sox managed only 5 hits, all singles, against Schwellenbach, who picked up his 2nd win of the season against the Red Sox.    -----Buehler's Day On the Bump: Walker Buehler took the loss for the Red Sox on Saturday. The right-hander gave up 5 earned runs on 10 hits over 5.2 Innings.  He gave up Home Runs to Austin Riley and Ronald Acuna Jr in the Braves 4-run 4th Inning. Buehler falls to 4-3 with the loss.        -----Tough Times at the Plate: Jarren Duran went 0-for-4 on Saturday and is 0-for-9 in the Series and hitless in his last 11 at-bats. The Red Sox have struck out 28 times and walked only 2 times over the 1st 2 games of the series against Atlanta pitching.   -----#'s of the Day: The Sox went 11-17 during the Month of May.  Red Sox Starting Pitchers Have 1 WIN in LAST 18 Games and have gone 13 straight games without a Winning Decision. Garrett Crochet makes the start on Sunday, and it'll be the 9th time this season that Crochet starts after a Red Sox loss.         -----Roster Moves- Reliever Liam Hendriks was played on the IL Friday due to right hip inflammation. • RED SOX POSTCAST: Abraham Toro & Red Sox Bullpen Help End Losing Streaks

  The Red Sox (28-31) The Red Sox avoided a 6th straight loss with a 5-1 win over the Atlanta Braves Friday night at Truist Park. The win also ended the Red Sox 6-game road losing streak. The Red Sox 5 relieves combined for 4.1 scoreless innings. Abraham Toro went 3-for-4 with a 2-out, RBI Double in the 6th that put the Red Sox up by 2 runs. Aroldis Chapman worked a 1-2-3 9th with 2 strikeouts to end it.-----The Home Run Story: Trevor Story put the Red Sox in front 2-1 with a 2-out, 2-run Home Run in the Top of the 4th Inning. It was Story's 7th Home Run of the season and 1st in 58 at-bats. The Red Sox are now 7-0 when Story goes yard this season.    -----Giolito Takes the Mound: Lucas Giolito made the start in the series opener Friday night, and he went 4.2 innings against the Braves. Giolito gave up his only run in the 1st Inning when Matt Olson delivered with an RBI Single. Giolito threw 85 pitches during his outing, and he's allowed 1 run over his last 2 outings after going 7 scoreless the last time out against the Orioles.      -----#'s of the Day: Red Sox Starting Pitchers Have 1 WIN in LAST 17 Games and have gone 12 straight games without a Winning Decision.
