Denny Hamlin and Jared are back in the studio after a disappointing Sunday. Before getting in to his own race, Denny reacts to the amazing finish in the O’Reilly race that saw Corey Day holding off Carson Kvapil.
Denny then discussed the decision to pit from the lead and what caused him to spin out right before the end of stage 1. Plus, what did he know about where Kyle Larson was on the track and how that information would have impacted his driving. And just how much damage did the car suffer from Denny spinning out and what exactly happened with the car cutting off.

Kyle Larson had about as perfect a day as you can have at Kansas, and suddenly everyone wants to hand him the championship. Denny Hamlin isn't ready to do that.
With six races left and Denny sitting 26 points back, he explains why he's not panicking. Nobody keeps putting up a 2-point average finish forever, and one bad pit stop, restart or wreck can change the whole picture. Denny, Travis and Jared get into it over who's actually still alive in the Chase, where the cutoff really is, and whether Vegas, Charlotte, Phoenix, Talladega, Martinsville and Homestead give Denny enough time to make a run.

Ryan Blaney doesn't really fight. He'll lose his mind on the radio, climb out of the car, and be completely calm two seconds later. So, when he handed his phone to a crew member, said "hold this," and walked across pit road toward Carson Hocevar after Bristol, everyone was caught off guard. Blaney included.
On this episode of Actions Detrimental, Denny Hamlin and Jared sit down with Blaney just days after the incident to get the real story straight from him. Blaney explains that he wasn't looking for a fight. He wanted a stern conversation. Then everything went sideways in about five seconds.
He breaks down getting hit twice in the same spot on his cheek, going to the ground, and somehow ending up right back in the middle of it. Denny and Blaney also get into the crew members who jumped in to break it up, including the horse-collar that sent Blaney down, and whether NASCAR's rule for breaking up fights needs to change.
Plus, Blaney talks about the on-track battle that started it all, where he stands in the playoffs after three rough races, and why Team Penske always seems to find another gear when the weather gets cold.

It was a tough week at the track for Denny, but you'd never guess it from where he sits in the standings.
Gateway put a lot on him, and the conditions certainly didn't make it any easier. He talks about just how much the heat and humidity took out of him during the race, including some of the physical struggles he dealt with behind the wheel.
Then there's the wreck everyone's been talking about: Sawalich vs. Day. Denny's got a pretty clear stance. He thinks NASCAR should stay out of it and let the drivers sort it out themselves. He walks through why, and doesn't hold back when it comes to who he thinks was actually in the wrong.
The guys also dig into everything else from Sunday, including why there were so many cautions, what's behind the brake issues several teams dealt with, and Denny reviewing his contact with Larson on a restart. He walks through what he saw in the moment, then realizes his read on it might have changed after watching it back.
And even after two tougher weeks on the track, Denny's still leading the Chase standings. He talks through why he's not worried about it, what he wants to fix before Bristol, and why he thinks winning races is going to matter more than anything else from here on out.
